Sam & Cassie Tie the Knot

So you know how I am always saying,  “I’m not a wedding photographer”, or “I don’t want to do weddings”?  Well… this wedding just might have changed my mind!  Cassie contacted me a few months ago inquiring about me shooting her May wedding.  I told her that wedding photography wasn’t something that I took on often, but everything she described about her day sounded right up my alley.  Not to mention that she gave me full creative license, and we instantly bonded when I asked her how she felt about me bringing my sofa to take photos on in the avocado orchard behind her parents’ house.

Now normally I like meet with the bride and groom to chat, and maybe take some engagement pictures before the wedding so that we’re comfortable with one another come the big day.  But given that Cassie & Sam live in London, we communicated only via email until two days before the wedding.  Not only that, but I met the groom, Sam, for the first time 5 minutes before the ceremony started.  That was definitely a first!  But none of that mattered, because these two, and their ENTIRE family & wedding party were some of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in my life!  I am SO happy that I was blessed with this opportunity, and feel like I made a few new friends in the process.

Sam & Cassie, thank you thank you thank you for trusting in me to take some of the most important photos of your life.  I know that you both will laugh through life together, hand in hand.  You are a beautiful couple!!!!!  And Melissa, thank you for sending Cassie my direction, and believing in me to shoot this wedding before I even believed in myself.  xoxo

Enjoy,

Tessa
