The first question I ask a family when we meet for a session is, “are there any shots that you really want to get?”. The most common answer is, “I’d like at least one posed photo of the whole family looking and smiling at the camera”. I totally understand this because when we have family photos taken, that’s usually my goal as well – with some candid photos mixed in. I try my hardest to get this shot at every shoot, but sometimes it’s nearly impossible depending on how many children I’m shooting and their ages. The Cooper family was no exception, and since their youngest was 3 I was prepared to sing a song, or perhaps even tell a knock-knock joke. Nope, not needed. The entire family stood/sat where I suggested and smiled sweetly at the camera while being completely still!! We also had some fun racing around the park, and I did get to tell that knock-knock joke afterall… I can never resist the chance to tell a joke to a captive audience of 3 & 5 year olds 😉

what a beautiful family your photos are wonderful – my favorite is the second one, with the kids hanging over the shoulders – how cool!
